Alp Stabelchod
Viewpoint
Until 1919, Alp Stabelchod was used as grazing for cattle. Since then the forest has not regrown.
Mountain pine forests can only extend when there are enough areas in the ground free of other plant growth. Areas of soil suitable for mountain pine shoots may be created by erosion, or where paths exist that are constantly used by game or where soil is scraped by red deer.
