The Stoneman Glaciara takes you up to the Great Aletsch Glacier – the mightiest ice stream in the Alps – and back to Mörel in three well-balanced stages. Next comes the ‘King’s Ascent’, with a climb of just under 1,600 metres: an old military road leads steeply up to the Breithorn Pass at 2,451 metres. This is followed by the descent into the Binntal valley. The route then continues along the Rhône towards Obergoms – through ancient, mystical village centres, past historic monuments and inviting cafés.
