UNESCO Biosphäre Entlebuch - In the middle of the village of Hasle the golden eagle in the gable welcomes you to the Engel Inn. The Engel was already mentioned in 1711 in history books and today Thomas Hunkeler and Katrin Schuler run this traditional family business.

Thomas and Katrin Hunkeler are the fourth generation to welcome their guests to the “Engel”. With much love and passion, the two hosts and their team always do their best to ensure that guests from near and far feel at home in the inn, enjoy their stay and are happy to return.

Top quality, regional and seasonal products are a top priority in the Engel kitchen. As a partner business of the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch, the Hunkeler family is committed to using mainly suppliers from the region and thus implementing the idea of the biosphere. The specialty weeks are also popular: the asparagus and wild garlic specialties, the much-loved cordon bleus in a wide variety of variations, the well-known game specialties from local hunts and much more ensure plenty of variety on the menu.
